A whopping ten months after Medal of Honor: Allied Assault hit the stores, the first expansion pack Spearhead appeared. It sports a single-player campaign composed of three missions across Germany, France and Belgium - nine levels in total. The gameplay is largely the same, if somewhat more intense than the original. It's got the same great sound effects and music; even the graphics are the same not fantastic, but not bad.

New elements include 20 new (but not necessarily any more useful) weapons, and minor gameplay tweaks, such as the ability to lean (with caveat that it's impossible to move while leaning). There are 12 well-designed multiplayer maps as well. Die-hard Medal of Honor fans will definitely want to pick this up. At this point in its life you can find it as a bargain bin gem. But you won't miss much if you just skip it for the next level in sublime chaos: Medal of Honor Pacific Assault.
